Narrative:

ATC kept us high due to crossing traffic below us. Once we cleared the traffic, we were asked if we could cross wiske intersection at 7000 ft MSL. We said no problem, but had to show 265 KIAS and a 4000 FPM rate of descent. Once we reached 10000 ft MSL, we slowed down to 250 KIAS, and continued our descent at 4000 FPM. At 9000 ft MSL, the controller asked us 'what is your speed?' we replied '250 KIAS.' he replied 'yeah, right!' I then said 'well, we are descending at 4000 FPM, and we do have a 57 KT tailwind, so that might explain why we are coming down so fast....' the controller replied 'I know what winds are, I didn't ask you for the winds, I just don't believe your speed, indicated that is.' basically, this controller called me a liar! Before I could answer, he assigned us another approach frequency and we made wiske intersection with no trouble. We landed in pit without further incident.

Title: A DO328 CREW APPARENTLY DID NOT CONVINCE THE PIT APCH CTLR THEY WERE AT 250 KIAS WHILE DSNDING TO 10000 FT.

Narrative: ATC KEPT US HIGH DUE TO XING TFC BELOW US. ONCE WE CLRED THE TFC, WE WERE ASKED IF WE COULD CROSS WISKE INTXN AT 7000 FT MSL. WE SAID NO PROB, BUT HAD TO SHOW 265 KIAS AND A 4000 FPM RATE OF DSCNT. ONCE WE REACHED 10000 FT MSL, WE SLOWED DOWN TO 250 KIAS, AND CONTINUED OUR DSCNT AT 4000 FPM. AT 9000 FT MSL, THE CTLR ASKED US 'WHAT IS YOUR SPD?' WE REPLIED '250 KIAS.' HE REPLIED 'YEAH, RIGHT!' I THEN SAID 'WELL, WE ARE DSNDING AT 4000 FPM, AND WE DO HAVE A 57 KT TAILWIND, SO THAT MIGHT EXPLAIN WHY WE ARE COMING DOWN SO FAST....' THE CTLR REPLIED 'I KNOW WHAT WINDS ARE, I DIDN'T ASK YOU FOR THE WINDS, I JUST DON'T BELIEVE YOUR SPD, INDICATED THAT IS.' BASICALLY, THIS CTLR CALLED ME A LIAR! BEFORE I COULD ANSWER, HE ASSIGNED US ANOTHER APCH FREQ AND WE MADE WISKE INTXN WITH NO TROUBLE. WE LANDED IN PIT WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
