Narrative:

On takeoff roll at 70 KTS, the cockpit received repeated chimes from the cabin. I elected to abort. After clearing the runway, the cockpit was informed by the flight attendants that the woman in X01 mistakenly pulled the emergency window exit instead of the window shade. We had maintenance check, the tires/brakes and reset the emergency window exit. After brake cooling time, we departed for dfw. The gentleman in X02 defused the situation. Some people were shouting fire and others were heading to the exits when he stood and told everyone to stay still and told the flight attendants just what the woman had done. Had he not done that I think people would have been out the exit.
