Narrative:

Access compartment door light illuminated after takeoff. Air carrier maintenance was working in the east&east compartment before gate departure. Air carrier maintenance confirmed that the east&east door was closed and locked and east&east door light was out. We departed the gate and completed before takeoff checklist with the east&east door light out. After takeoff, we heard a loud pop sound and the east&east door light came on. We could not pressurize the aircraft. Returned for landing at ZZZ without further incident.
