Narrative:

Executing a localizer approach to runway 28 at syr. After descending to MDA (I was flying the aircraft), the first officer called the runway in sight. I then descended below MDA with the runway in sight. I lost visual contact with the runway and I think about the same time the tower called saying they had a low altitude alert for us. We executed a missed approach.

Title: A300 CARGO CAPT MADE MISSED APCH AFTER DSNDING BELOW THE MDA AND LOSING SIGHT OF THE RWY. THE TWR CTLR ALSO ISSUED A LOW ALT ALERT WARNING.

Narrative: EXECUTING A LOC APCH TO RWY 28 AT SYR. AFTER DSNDING TO MDA (I WAS FLYING THE ACFT), THE FO CALLED THE RWY IN SIGHT. I THEN DSNDED BELOW MDA WITH THE RWY IN SIGHT. I LOST VISUAL CONTACT WITH THE RWY AND I THINK ABOUT THE SAME TIME THE TWR CALLED SAYING THEY HAD A LOW ALT ALERT FOR US. WE EXECUTED A MISSED APCH.
