Narrative:

Descending into ZZZ on a vector to valyrie intersection, at 7000 ft MSL, a 'too low terrain' GPWS aural warning went off. Responded to the warning in accordance with red box procedures and advised ZBW. Warning went out as we climbed through approximately 9000 ft MSL. Egpws (enhanced ground proximity warning system) was not on. MSA in the area is 3000 ft MSL. Releveled at 10000 ft, proceeded to ign and then continued the descent for landing, using ILS runway 16 approach to ZZZ. No further 'too low terrain' warnings during this part of the flight. ZBW queried us for information for his required report. As best we know, no traffic was moved for our response to the GPWS warning. Problem entered as a mechanical in the logbook. Maintenance fix was to placard the GPWS inoperative.
