Narrative:

During extended taxi delays at teb, confusion from 2 similar n-numbers resulted in my aircraft taxiing onto wrong runway for takeoff. Abcd and aecd taxiing to takeoff. Controllers weren't using full call sign, just 'clearance delivery.' this resulted in abcd turning around on holding ramp to use runway 19 instead of runway 24. Controller cleared 'clearance delivery' and aecd to cross runway 19 and 'turn around and hold for tower to call.' I asked captain if he understood hold for runway 19 as several in front of us had done, both t-props and jets departed runway 19 in front of us. Captain stated yes, hold for runway 19. Both abcd and aecd held and abcd went to position on runway 19 instead of runway 24 before controller caught mistake. Abcd vacated without delay or mishap then departed runway 24. Captain apologized for confusion saying an overhead aircraft also missed circling to runway 24 instead of runway 19 distraction him. I (first officer) should have been more assertive and made captain confirm both ATC and FMS confusion. First officer FMS set to departure runway 24 and captain was set to depart runway 19. Flight normal from then on and no conflicts or communication errors noted. Suggest not using n-numbers so close, ie, 'abcd' and 'aecd.'

Title: CPR FALCON DA900 CAPT TAXIED ONTO WRONG RWY FOR TKOF BY MISTAKE DUE TO HIS AND ANOTHER ACFT HAVING SIMILAR CALL SIGNS. TWR LCL CTLR CAUGHT MISTAKE AND REDIRECTED CAPT TO THE ORIGINALLY INTENDED RWY.

Narrative: DURING EXTENDED TAXI DELAYS AT TEB, CONFUSION FROM 2 SIMILAR N-NUMBERS RESULTED IN MY ACFT TAXIING ONTO WRONG RWY FOR TKOF. ABCD AND AECD TAXIING TO TKOF. CTLRS WEREN'T USING FULL CALL SIGN, JUST 'CD.' THIS RESULTED IN ABCD TURNING AROUND ON HOLDING RAMP TO USE RWY 19 INSTEAD OF RWY 24. CTLR CLRED 'CD' AND AECD TO CROSS RWY 19 AND 'TURN AROUND AND HOLD FOR TWR TO CALL.' I ASKED CAPT IF HE UNDERSTOOD HOLD FOR RWY 19 AS SEVERAL IN FRONT OF US HAD DONE, BOTH T-PROPS AND JETS DEPARTED RWY 19 IN FRONT OF US. CAPT STATED YES, HOLD FOR RWY 19. BOTH ABCD AND AECD HELD AND ABCD WENT TO POS ON RWY 19 INSTEAD OF RWY 24 BEFORE CTLR CAUGHT MISTAKE. ABCD VACATED WITHOUT DELAY OR MISHAP THEN DEPARTED RWY 24. CAPT APOLOGIZED FOR CONFUSION SAYING AN OVERHEAD ACFT ALSO MISSED CIRCLING TO RWY 24 INSTEAD OF RWY 19 DISTR HIM. I (FO) SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE ASSERTIVE AND MADE CAPT CONFIRM BOTH ATC AND FMS CONFUSION. FO FMS SET TO DEP RWY 24 AND CAPT WAS SET TO DEPART RWY 19. FLT NORMAL FROM THEN ON AND NO CONFLICTS OR COM ERRORS NOTED. SUGGEST NOT USING N-NUMBERS SO CLOSE, IE, 'ABCD' AND 'AECD.'
