Narrative:

4 NM south of dfw. We were cleared for a visual approach to runway 35C, dfw. The first officer was flying the aircraft. There was a B777 landing the same runway and was approximately 6 NM ahead of us. There was a B757 on a visual to runway 35R, approximately 1000 ft below us. We were above and slightly behind the B757 and had it in sight the whole time. Tower didn't like our angle towards runway 35C and asked us to square off our approach. We did this. We were staying slightly high because of the B777. We made a normal landing. At the gate I had 2 passenger remark that they thought we had been too close to the other aircraft. I'm submitting this because I'm not sure who these passenger were and who they might tell or what they might do. This is a simple cya for me and my first officer. I don't think the approach was unsafe but I stand by to hear from those of you with more experience than I. I want to be safe and have the passenger feel safe at all times.
