Narrative:

Upon reporting to work for my trip I introduced myself to the captain and informed him that this would be my first flight into ZZZ since before 9/tue/01. I told him that I had reviewed the new procedures for flight into ZZZ, including the need for the captain to call dispatch prior to each flight, the use of the code word with ZZZ approach control, and the amendments to arrival and departure paths at ZZZ. The captain assured me that he had been flying the same trip for the previous 2 weeks and that his flts had been uneventful as the new procedures were straight forward in practice. While en route to ZZZ I asked the captain for the code word for ZZZ, and he informed me that he had not obtained if prior to departure. As we did not posses the code word, upon checking in with ZZZ we were given vectors to ZZZ1, where we diverted without incident. Supplemental information from acn 531085: used wrong codeword on initial approval call at ZZZ by mistake resulting in mandatory diversion to ZZZ1. I was told codeword by dispatch and wrote it down correctly, but mistakenly told first officer the word I used on the last flight to ZZZ. They are very close. I think both pilots should be told separately. Also if there was a loss of communication after using the wrong codeword, there could be a big problem.

Narrative: UPON RPTING TO WORK FOR MY TRIP I INTRODUCED MYSELF TO THE CAPT AND INFORMED HIM THAT THIS WOULD BE MY FIRST FLT INTO ZZZ SINCE BEFORE 9/TUE/01. I TOLD HIM THAT I HAD REVIEWED THE NEW PROCS FOR FLT INTO ZZZ, INCLUDING THE NEED FOR THE CAPT TO CALL DISPATCH PRIOR TO EACH FLT, THE USE OF THE CODE WORD WITH ZZZ APCH CONTROL, AND THE AMENDMENTS TO ARRIVAL AND DEP PATHS AT ZZZ. THE CAPT ASSURED ME THAT HE HAD BEEN FLYING THE SAME TRIP FOR THE PREVIOUS 2 WKS AND THAT HIS FLTS HAD BEEN UNEVENTFUL AS THE NEW PROCS WERE STRAIGHT FORWARD IN PRACTICE. WHILE ENRTE TO ZZZ I ASKED THE CAPT FOR THE CODE WORD FOR ZZZ, AND HE INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD NOT OBTAINED IF PRIOR TO DEP. AS WE DID NOT POSSES THE CODE WORD, UPON CHKING IN WITH ZZZ WE WERE GIVEN VECTORS TO ZZZ1, WHERE WE DIVERTED WITHOUT INCIDENT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 531085: USED WRONG CODEWORD ON INITIAL APPROVAL CALL AT ZZZ BY MISTAKE RESULTING IN MANDATORY DIVERSION TO ZZZ1. I WAS TOLD CODEWORD BY DISPATCH AND WROTE IT DOWN CORRECTLY, BUT MISTAKENLY TOLD FO THE WORD I USED ON THE LAST FLT TO ZZZ. THEY ARE VERY CLOSE. I THINK BOTH PLTS SHOULD BE TOLD SEPARATELY. ALSO IF THERE WAS A LOSS OF COMMUNICATION AFTER USING THE WRONG CODEWORD, THERE COULD BE A BIG PROB.
