Narrative:

Aircraft landed on runway 35L and exited on A2. We were instructed to taxi south on taxiway a, hold short of runway 35L at A4 and stay with tower. As we approached A3 the tower cleared us to cross runway 35L at A4 and taxi to the ramp with me. We were about to enter the intersection of A3 and taxiway a when I caught some movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked right and saw a C172 on A3 also entering the intersection. I immediately applied maximum braking and pulled the aircraft to the left to avoid an imminent collision. The aircraft stopped approximately 15-20 ft apart with both of us in the same intersection. The cessna was able to make a 180 degree turn and clear the intersection, allowing us to continue to A4 and hold short of runway 35L. We were on tower, cessna on ground.

Narrative: ACFT LANDED ON RWY 35L AND EXITED ON A2. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO TAXI S ON TXWY A, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 35L AT A4 AND STAY WITH TWR. AS WE APCHED A3 THE TWR CLRED US TO CROSS RWY 35L AT A4 AND TAXI TO THE RAMP WITH ME. WE WERE ABOUT TO ENTER THE INTXN OF A3 AND TXWY A WHEN I CAUGHT SOME MOVEMENT OUT OF THE CORNER OF MY EYE. I LOOKED R AND SAW A C172 ON A3 ALSO ENTERING THE INTXN. I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED MAX BRAKING AND PULLED THE ACFT TO THE L TO AVOID AN IMMINENT COLLISION. THE ACFT STOPPED APPROX 15-20 FT APART WITH BOTH OF US IN THE SAME INTXN. THE CESSNA WAS ABLE TO MAKE A 180 DEG TURN AND CLR THE INTXN, ALLOWING US TO CONTINUE TO A4 AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 35L. WE WERE ON TWR, CESSNA ON GND.
