Narrative:

I departed on a VFR flight and contacted approach for flight following. After two or three minutes, I was given a squawk and when radar identified informed that I was in the vicinity of a power facility. I asked the quickest way out, was told to turn east, which I immediately did. I had received a VFR briefing, but was not aware that there was a facility in the vicinity. I normally fly IFR.
