Narrative:

Owner/pilot avoided YYY class D enroute to ZZZ. Aircraft was to the west of ZZZ approximately 10 KM. ZZZ tower was contacted and tower cleared the aircraft to land straight in on runway xx. While lining up with the runway tower advised us to call on the phone to ZZZ approach. By this time the ZZZ plant was in left rear quarter. By clearing us straight into runway xx, we were put into the restr airspace. Because the restr airspace merges with the ZZZ airspace, landing instructions should have been to enter a right base for runway xx, which would probably kept the aircraft west of the restr area.
