Narrative:

The purpose of the flight was IFR training. I was flying with an mei. We picked up NOTAMS for the local area, since the training was to be around the local area. We tracked VOR's and did holds to the north and after tracking VOR's for 2 hours we ended up close to a larger city. We decided to eat lunch. When we arrived at the airport, we were informed by the unicom that the airport was closed because there was a power plant within 10 miles to the southeast of the airport. We immediately departed the area to the west.
