Narrative:

I replaced the right nose tire on aircraft. I later realized that I may have left the spacer off of the tire/wheel assembly. The reason for this I believe was that the spacer was never there, and I was confused with the wording in the maintenance manual 767 32-45-02-4 removal/installation paperwork. In this paperwork, 2 different axle types are referenced and according to ipc 767 32-45-02-01M, the axle type that was on this aircraft was not effective per ipc, 32-45-02 page 3 item X. I believe this was a contributing factor.

Title: A B767-300 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE R NOSE TIRE MISSING THE AXLE SPACER.

Narrative: I REPLACED THE R NOSE TIRE ON ACFT. I LATER REALIZED THAT I MAY HAVE LEFT THE SPACER OFF OF THE TIRE/WHEEL ASSEMBLY. THE REASON FOR THIS I BELIEVE WAS THAT THE SPACER WAS NEVER THERE, AND I WAS CONFUSED WITH THE WORDING IN THE MAINT MANUAL 767 32-45-02-4 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION PAPERWORK. IN THIS PAPERWORK, 2 DIFFERENT AXLE TYPES ARE REFED AND ACCORDING TO IPC 767 32-45-02-01M, THE AXLE TYPE THAT WAS ON THIS ACFT WAS NOT EFFECTIVE PER IPC, 32-45-02 PAGE 3 ITEM X. I BELIEVE THIS WAS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR.
