Narrative:

After contacting burlington for an IFR clearance I was told to hold for release. The WX was VFR. There was unusual ground traffic on the runways (the airport is an uncontrolled field) cars, planes, etc. I forgot to get the release and took off VFR. Burlington reminded me of this when I contacted them. I allowed distractions to interfere with my operations.

Title: BEECH 300 CPR PLT TOOK OFF VFR PRIOR TO RELEASE FROM ATC FOR HIS FILED IFR CLRNC.

Narrative: AFTER CONTACTING BURLINGTON FOR AN IFR CLRNC I WAS TOLD TO HOLD FOR RELEASE. THE WX WAS VFR. THERE WAS UNUSUAL GND TFC ON THE RWYS (THE ARPT IS AN UNCTLED FIELD) CARS, PLANES, ETC. I FORGOT TO GET THE RELEASE AND TOOK OFF VFR. BURLINGTON REMINDED ME OF THIS WHEN I CONTACTED THEM. I ALLOWED DISTRACTIONS TO INTERFERE WITH MY OPS.
