Narrative:

After completing an instructional flight for an instrument rating, I had landed the aircraft and had taxied clear of runway in use. After being instructed by tower at ism to hold short of taxiway and contact ground, we were struck from behind by another aircraft. We had already contacted ground control and were stopped by the taxiway. The other aircraft (T-6 texan) had just landed and was instructed to clear the active. The texan continued its roll into the back of our C172, causing a strike. I believe that if given advanced warning by the tower, either the T6 or my aircraft would have had time to clear the area, avoiding the collision.
