Narrative:

After first officer completed preflight, maintenance performed oil check and left the oil cap off of engine. During taxi out oil pressure red warning illuminated and was followed by aural warning and drop of pressure to zero. Captain shut engine down, first officer ran checklist. Consulted with maintenance control, taxied to ramp single engine. Maintenance tech admitted later he forgot to put cap back on after oil check. Crew swapped aircraft and continued to destination without further incident.

Title: AN EMB 120, DURING TAXI TO THE RWY, MADE AN IMMEDIATE RETURN DUE TO ENG LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING. CAUSED BY OIL FILLER CAP NOT INSTALLED.
