Narrative:

Traffic situation evaluated on handoff between aircraft #1 and #2. Aircraft #1 safely behind #2. Aircraft #3 identified as traffic for aircraft #1. D side attempted to have previous sector/center (ZME) turn aircraft #3 left. There was some delay as aircraft switched to wrong frequency. I turned aircraft #1 20 degrees left for aircraft #3. I failed to re evaluate aircraft #2. Conflict alert activated between aircraft #1 and aircraft #2. I turned aircraft #1 southwest to a 200 degree heading. Advised aircraft #2 of traffic and turned right heading 120 degrees. Aircraft #2 stated 'we've got the traffic.' then #2 advised they were responding to a resolution advisory (RA). I asked which way he was maneuvering and was told they were instructed to descend 2000 ft. Aircraft #2 stopped his descent at 500 ft and was instructed to return to FL370. Aircraft #1 cleared back on course.

Title: INTERFAC COM PROB ZME AND ZID RESULTS IN AN OPERROR WITH ZID INVOLVING THREE ACFT.

Narrative: TFC SIT EVALUATED ON HDOF BETWEEN ACFT #1 AND #2. ACFT #1 SAFELY BEHIND #2. ACFT #3 IDENTIFIED AS TFC FOR ACFT #1. D SIDE ATTEMPTED TO HAVE PREVIOUS SECTOR/CENTER (ZME) TURN ACFT #3 LEFT. THERE WAS SOME DELAY AS ACFT SWITCHED TO WRONG FREQ. I TURNED ACFT #1 20 DEGS LEFT FOR ACFT #3. I FAILED TO RE EVALUATE ACFT #2. CONFLICT ALERT ACTIVATED BETWEEN ACFT #1 AND ACFT #2. I TURNED ACFT #1 SOUTHWEST TO A 200 DEG HEADING. ADVISED ACFT #2 OF TFC AND TURNED RIGHT HEADING 120 DEGS. ACFT #2 STATED 'WE'VE GOT THE TFC.' THEN #2 ADVISED THEY WERE RESPONDING TO A RESOLUTION ADVISORY (RA). I ASKED WHICH WAY HE WAS MANEUVERING AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE INSTRUCTED TO DESCEND 2000 FT. ACFT #2 STOPPED HIS DESCENT AT 500 FT AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO RETURN TO FL370. ACFT #1 CLRED BACK ON COURSE.
