Narrative:

I was given an IFR clearance from dvt to las that read (in part) 'cleared to las via the published obstacle departure procedure, expect radar vectors to intercept V105...' since I have flown the departure procedure out of dvt 8 or 10 times, I did not re-review the procedure this time before takeoff. I climbed out, turned to intercept the pxr 336 degree radial outbound, and upon reaching 4000 ft MSL turned direct pxr VOR. Phoenix departure asked why I was proceeding south when I should be northbound on V105. I advised departure that I had not received radar vectors to intercept V105 prior to reaching 4000 ft and the procedure required I then turn back direct to pxr. In actuality, the 336 degree radial is V105 for that segment of the airway and departure advised me to make a 180 degree turn and proceed on course. After the flight I reviewed the departure procedure and it states that if you are proceeding nwbound on V105, after intercepting the pxr 336 degree radial, climb on course, all others turn left direct pxr. While the clearance I received was misleading, in that I did not need, nor should I have expected, radar vectors to intercept V105, if I had reviewed the departure procedure prior to takeoff, I could have avoided this situation. My perception/belief that I already knew the procedure and en route transition led me to not re-review the procedure which contributed to the above situation.

Title: BELIEVING HE KNEW THE DEP FROM PHX AND DID NOT NEED TO REVIEW IT BEFORE DEP A PLT MAKES ERRORS WHICH ARE READILY APPARENT TO THE DEP CTLR. AN AFTER FLT REVIEW OF THE CHART CONFIRMS THE ERRORS MADE.

Narrative: I WAS GIVEN AN IFR CLRNC FROM DVT TO LAS THAT READ (IN PART) 'CLRED TO LAS VIA THE PUBLISHED OBSTACLE DEP PROC, EXPECT RADAR VECTORS TO INTERCEPT V105...' SINCE I HAVE FLOWN THE DEP PROC OUT OF DVT 8 OR 10 TIMES, I DID NOT RE-REVIEW THE PROC THIS TIME BEFORE TKOF. I CLBED OUT, TURNED TO INTERCEPT THE PXR 336 DEG RADIAL OUTBOUND, AND UPON REACHING 4000 FT MSL TURNED DIRECT PXR VOR. PHOENIX DEP ASKED WHY I WAS PROCEEDING S WHEN I SHOULD BE NBOUND ON V105. I ADVISED DEP THAT I HAD NOT RECEIVED RADAR VECTORS TO INTERCEPT V105 PRIOR TO REACHING 4000 FT AND THE PROC REQUIRED I THEN TURN BACK DIRECT TO PXR. IN ACTUALITY, THE 336 DEG RADIAL IS V105 FOR THAT SEGMENT OF THE AIRWAY AND DEP ADVISED ME TO MAKE A 180 DEG TURN AND PROCEED ON COURSE. AFTER THE FLT I REVIEWED THE DEP PROC AND IT STATES THAT IF YOU ARE PROCEEDING NWBOUND ON V105, AFTER INTERCEPTING THE PXR 336 DEG RADIAL, CLB ON COURSE, ALL OTHERS TURN L DIRECT PXR. WHILE THE CLRNC I RECEIVED WAS MISLEADING, IN THAT I DID NOT NEED, NOR SHOULD I HAVE EXPECTED, RADAR VECTORS TO INTERCEPT V105, IF I HAD REVIEWED THE DEP PROC PRIOR TO TKOF, I COULD HAVE AVOIDED THIS SIT. MY PERCEPTION/BELIEF THAT I ALREADY KNEW THE PROC AND ENRTE TRANSITION LED ME TO NOT RE-REVIEW THE PROC WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO THE ABOVE SIT.
