Narrative:

At XA00 eastern, wed I received a radio call from ship flight crew on the taxiway here in ZZZ. The crew reported at between 30 to 40 KTS on takeoff roll they got a left engine bled off light in the switch. Discontinued takeoff. I had the crew run up the engine while I checked for history, none found. The crew reported they never lost duct pressure and light went out, never came back on. On engine run up all checked good. Crew and maintenance both satisfied crew had a log book entry do to throttles advanced for takeoff I sent them to continue in service message and flight departed. Today at XB00 eastern, thu, maintenance called asking about the legality of continue service at a maintenance station operations manual reference only a continue in service from a non maintenance station.

Title: A B757-200 WAS DISPATCHED FROM A MAINT STATION WITH A LEFT BLEED OFF LIGHT INOPERATIVE IN CONFLICT WITH THE MEL.

Narrative: AT XA00 EASTERN, WED I RECEIVED A RADIO CALL FROM SHIP FLC ON THE TXWY HERE IN ZZZ. THE CREW RPTED AT BETWEEN 30 TO 40 KTS ON TKOF ROLL THEY GOT A LEFT ENG BLED OFF LIGHT IN THE SWITCH. DISCONTINUED TKOF. I HAD THE CREW RUN UP THE ENG WHILE I CHECKED FOR HISTORY, NONE FOUND. THE CREW REPORTED THEY NEVER LOST DUCT PRESSURE AND LIGHT WENT OUT, NEVER CAME BACK ON. ON ENG RUN UP ALL CHECKED GOOD. CREW AND MAINT BOTH SATISFIED CREW HAD A LOG BOOK ENTRY DO TO THROTTLES ADVANCED FOR TKOF I SENT THEM TO CONTINUE IN SVC MESSAGE AND FLT DEPARTED. TODAY AT XB00 EASTERN, THU, MAINT CALLED ASKING ABOUT THE LEGALITY OF CONTINUE SVC AT A MAINT STATION OPS MANUAL REFERENCE ONLY A CONTINUE IN SVC FROM A NON MAINT STATION.
