Narrative:

While on radar vectors for an NDB runway 28L approach at lansing, mi, the student accidentally selected 1200 on the transponder. Due to the prohibition on VFR flts by the FAA, the controller queried the action and asked that the original code be reset. We explained to the controller that it was strictly accidental. Conclusion: this could have been prevented by more attentiveness being paid to the code being selected.
