Narrative:

We were cleared for an intermediate altitude to FL200 because of traffic crossing FL210. I was working the radios. I read back the clearance at FL200, but I mistakenly selected FL220 on the altitude selector window. I acknowledged the traffic in sight, climbing through fl 224. ZJX requested our assigned altitude. I replied FL410. I thought he meant cruising altitude. After leveloff at FL230 ZJX cleared to climb to FL230 and he said also that the traffic at FL210 was no more a factor followed by a phone number to call them upon arrival at rdu.
