Narrative:

We were starting the 2ND leg of a through flight from ZZZ1 to ZZZ airport. This was the last leg of a 3 day trip, and we were anxious to get home. We deplaned the passenger from the ZZZ2 to ZZZ1 leg and ran our before start checklist. The ramp agent then handed the load manifest to the first officer and said we have no passenger. The first officer completed the weight and balance form and handed it to the flight attendant and she left the cockpit. I then asked the first officer if we had any through passenger to ZZZ and he said no. While en route to ZZZ the first officer and I discussed that we could go directly to the maintenance hangar instead of the gate because we had no passenger. I then asked the first officer if we had any baggage in the cargo compartment that would have to be dropped off at the gate. He then told me that there was no baggage on the load manifest. After landing in ZZZ, I taxied to the maintenance hangar and shut down the engines. After shutting down, the flight attendant proceeded to the cockpit to tell us that we still had passenger onboard. I then apologized to the folks, and told them that there was a miscom between the crew members, and we thought everyone deplaned in ZZZ1. I then started the engines back up and taxied to the gate to deplane the passenger. The problem with the situation, besides the obvious embarrassment of proceeding to the wrong location, was the fact that we took off with an improperly filled out load manifest. The first officer somehow missed the fact that we had 5 through passenger onboard and some baggage. Our company requires the flight attendant to verify the passenger count with the flight crew, but she failed to communicate with the crew. This situation could have been avoided if the first officer were more careful reading the load report, and if I made the flight attendant tell me the passenger count, as she was supposed to do. I have been with the company for awhile but I am a new captain with only 70 hours of 121 PIC time. I am learning more about the job as PIC everyday and the fact that not only do I have to do my job correctly, I also have to make sure my crew does too.

Title: A BREAKDOWN IN COORD OF THE CABIN AND COCKPIT CREW ALONG WITH NON COMPLIANCE WITH COMPANY PROCS AND POLICES LEADS TO AN ACR TAXIING TO THE HANGAR WITH PAX AND BAGGAGE ON BOARD UNKNOWN TO THE FLT CREW.

Narrative: WE WERE STARTING THE 2ND LEG OF A THROUGH FLT FROM ZZZ1 TO ZZZ ARPT. THIS WAS THE LAST LEG OF A 3 DAY TRIP, AND WE WERE ANXIOUS TO GET HOME. WE DEPLANED THE PAX FROM THE ZZZ2 TO ZZZ1 LEG AND RAN OUR BEFORE START CHKLIST. THE RAMP AGENT THEN HANDED THE LOAD MANIFEST TO THE FO AND SAID WE HAVE NO PAX. THE FO COMPLETED THE WT AND BAL FORM AND HANDED IT TO THE FLT ATTENDANT AND SHE LEFT THE COCKPIT. I THEN ASKED THE FO IF WE HAD ANY THROUGH PAX TO ZZZ AND HE SAID NO. WHILE ENRTE TO ZZZ THE FO AND I DISCUSSED THAT WE COULD GO DIRECTLY TO THE MAINT HANGAR INSTEAD OF THE GATE BECAUSE WE HAD NO PAX. I THEN ASKED THE FO IF WE HAD ANY BAGGAGE IN THE CARGO COMPARTMENT THAT WOULD HAVE TO BE DROPPED OFF AT THE GATE. HE THEN TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO BAGGAGE ON THE LOAD MANIFEST. AFTER LNDG IN ZZZ, I TAXIED TO THE MAINT HANGAR AND SHUT DOWN THE ENGS. AFTER SHUTTING DOWN, THE FLT ATTENDANT PROCEEDED TO THE COCKPIT TO TELL US THAT WE STILL HAD PAX ONBOARD. I THEN APOLOGIZED TO THE FOLKS, AND TOLD THEM THAT THERE WAS A MISCOM BTWN THE CREW MEMBERS, AND WE THOUGHT EVERYONE DEPLANED IN ZZZ1. I THEN STARTED THE ENGS BACK UP AND TAXIED TO THE GATE TO DEPLANE THE PAX. THE PROB WITH THE SIT, BESIDES THE OBVIOUS EMBARRASSMENT OF PROCEEDING TO THE WRONG LOCATION, WAS THE FACT THAT WE TOOK OFF WITH AN IMPROPERLY FILLED OUT LOAD MANIFEST. THE FO SOMEHOW MISSED THE FACT THAT WE HAD 5 THROUGH PAX ONBOARD AND SOME BAGGAGE. OUR COMPANY REQUIRES THE FLT ATTENDANT TO VERIFY THE PAX COUNT WITH THE FLT CREW, BUT SHE FAILED TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE CREW. THIS SIT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THE FO WERE MORE CAREFUL READING THE LOAD RPT, AND IF I MADE THE FLT ATTENDANT TELL ME THE PAX COUNT, AS SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO DO. I HAVE BEEN WITH THE COMPANY FOR AWHILE BUT I AM A NEW CAPT WITH ONLY 70 HRS OF 121 PIC TIME. I AM LEARNING MORE ABOUT THE JOB AS PIC EVERYDAY AND THE FACT THAT NOT ONLY DO I HAVE TO DO MY JOB CORRECTLY, I ALSO HAVE TO MAKE SURE MY CREW DOES TOO.
