Narrative:

Emergency landing at bwi after fuel dump, tire damage. While en route to bwi we were advised by ATC, ZFW, that B727 tire fragments were found on the runway 17R just after our departure. We prepared while en route to bwi for an emergency landing and coordinated with ATC our intentions to do a fly-by then be vectored to dump fuel prior to commencing approach to bwi runway 28. Upon arrival to bwi airspace we were vectored to runway 33L localizer to perform the fly-by. Ground personnel noted no observable damage, however our flight engineer did identify the #1 main tire as the suspect tire. Following the fly-by we were vectored over the bay, east of bwi, to dump fuel. We began dumping at XA01Z and dumped approximately 10000 pounds in that general area while being vectored. At the completion of dumping we were then vectored to join the runway 28 ILS approach. We performed a flaps 30 degree landing and touched down softly at vref. We were met by arff equipment, maintenance, airport personnel, and FAA. We disembarked the passenger through the forward entry door after arff advised us the aircraft was not a fire hazard and after people movers arrived to accomplish this. All the crew was transported to operations on the second people mover.
