Narrative:

The klas airport was set to close. Just before that time, our flight was in position at the gate and ready to taxi. I asked the ground controller if we had time to get to the runway 5 mins before closing time. The controller stated that it looked like I'd have another 15 mins. From previous experience at this airport, I had come to the understanding that published curfews were flexible and dependent on the readiness of the port authority/authorized to do routine maintenance. I assumed that this flight was no different. I asked for and was issued a taxi clearance and eventually a takeoff clearance by ATC.
