Narrative:
In position, holding for takeoff. Right outboard brakes exceeds 300 degrees. Almost simultaneously, we get takeoff clearance. Rather than clear runway, I elect to go. Wrong decision. I regret it. If the overtemp and clearance had not occurred simultaneously, I surely would have done this differently.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AIRBUS A320 CAPT DECIDED TO GO AHEAD WITH TKOF EVEN THOUGH THE BRAKES INDICATED HIGHER THAN THE MAX OPERATING LIMITATIONS ALLOWED WHEN CLRED FOR TKOF.
Narrative: IN POS, HOLDING FOR TKOF. R OUTBOARD BRAKES EXCEEDS 300 DEGS. ALMOST SIMULTANEOUSLY, WE GET TKOF CLRNC. RATHER THAN CLR RWY, I ELECT TO GO. WRONG DECISION. I REGRET IT. IF THE OVERTEMP AND CLRNC HAD NOT OCCURRED SIMULTANEOUSLY, I SURELY WOULD HAVE DONE THIS DIFFERENTLY.
