Narrative:

We were cleared to taxi to runway 26, hold short of runway 31. We held short of the hold line for runway 31. Ground control then cleared us to cross runway 31, taxi runway 26. We cleared visually both ways and started the taxi again. We did see landing lights on final but they appeared far enough out to safely cross. 1/2 way between the runway and the hold line, ground called again and said to 'hold position.' we stopped and held until the other aircraft landed. Ground told us that on the original clearance to cross at the end of the transmission they had said 'disregard.' we never heard the 'disregard.' the controller had erred in how close the landing traffic was to the runway. Ground should have said 'hold short' and not disregarded on his transmission.

Title: A FALCON 20 CPR FLC IS CLRED TO CROSS RWY 31 WHILE AN ACFT IS ON FINAL APCH AT LRP, PA.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 26, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 31. WE HELD SHORT OF THE HOLD LINE FOR RWY 31. GND CTL THEN CLRED US TO CROSS RWY 31, TAXI RWY 26. WE CLRED VISUALLY BOTH WAYS AND STARTED THE TAXI AGAIN. WE DID SEE LNDG LIGHTS ON FINAL BUT THEY APPEARED FAR ENOUGH OUT TO SAFELY CROSS. 1/2 WAY BTWN THE RWY AND THE HOLD LINE, GND CALLED AGAIN AND SAID TO 'HOLD POS.' WE STOPPED AND HELD UNTIL THE OTHER ACFT LANDED. GND TOLD US THAT ON THE ORIGINAL CLRNC TO CROSS AT THE END OF THE XMISSION THEY HAD SAID 'DISREGARD.' WE NEVER HEARD THE 'DISREGARD.' THE CTLR HAD ERRED IN HOW CLOSE THE LNDG TFC WAS TO THE RWY. GND SHOULD HAVE SAID 'HOLD SHORT' AND NOT DISREGARDED ON HIS XMISSION.
