Narrative:

Medical emergency. Our lead flight attendant came up to the cockpit and advised that an older lady was nauseated and feeling faint and had her oxygen. I contacted dispatch as soon as possible and advised them of the medical emergency. Approximately 5 mins later, the lead flight attendant updated us with the passenger's condition. The ill passenger was still pretty nauseated and faint. At that time I decided to declare a medical emergency with ATC. Center gave us direct djb VOR direct cle. Approximately 5-10 mins later, the ill passenger started improving. Was advised that she was alert and talking with the lead flight attendant. I advised the flight attendant we could divert if the passenger's condition changed. The lead flight attendant thought the passenger was well enough to continue to cle. Advised dispatch and had dispatch call cle to have the paramedics meet the aircraft. We had priority handling by ATC to cle. Landed at cleveland and taxied to gate and paramedics came on board and took passenger off of aircraft and to the hospital. We had no medical/paramedics onboard during flight. I thought the flight attendants did a good job handling the medical situation. ATC gave us great service. I handled all the communications between dispatch and flight attendant while the first officer did the flying and communications with ATC.
