Narrative:

While on a 'practice' VOR approach into brackett airport, we (C172) were cleared for the approach and were at FAF when safety pilot noted traffic at 3 O'clock position, less than 1 mi. I looked and took immediate evasive action to avoid a midair. The other aircraft (C172) missed us from above. Lndgs by both aircraft were uneventful.

I LOOKED AND TOOK IMMEDIATE EVASIVE ACTION TO AVOID A MIDAIR. THE OTHER ACFT (C172) MISSED US FROM ABOVE. LNDGS BY BOTH ACFT WERE UNEVENTFUL.
