Narrative:

Flight from bwi to atl. After being vectored for the visual approach to runway 26R, approach control asked if we had the runway in sight. We stated that we did and were cleared for the visual and to contact tower at the marker (approximately a couple of mi ahead). We then configured the aircraft for landing and accomplished the landing checklist. After clearing the runway, we realized we had not contacted tower. We switched to tower frequency and were given taxi instructions. I feel that if there had not been a delay in the time we were talking to approach to when we were to contact tower, that this most likely would have been avoided.
