Narrative:

Flight from nrt (narita). Our pre departure clearance clearance was to climb to FL350 unrestr. We accepted. However, after takeoff, our clearance was changed to FL340 and that it be reached by pabba intersection. We initially thought we could make it, but informed tokyo control that we were unable. Tokyo asked us to make FL350 by sabes intersection. We were unable and they extended it to 30 NM past sabes. We said we would try. Immediately after this, we told tokyo that we could not make it by then either. Tokyo then ranted about us violating our clearance. At this point, we were non radar, etc. I do not feel we violated any clearance. They kept changing clrncs on us and we were hesitant to accept them. Tokyo control bucked themselves into a corner and tried to get us to exceed our aircraft's performance capabilities. Next time we will use more forceful language.

Narrative: FLT FROM NRT (NARITA). OUR PDC CLRNC WAS TO CLB TO FL350 UNRESTR. WE ACCEPTED. HOWEVER, AFTER TKOF, OUR CLRNC WAS CHANGED TO FL340 AND THAT IT BE REACHED BY PABBA INTXN. WE INITIALLY THOUGHT WE COULD MAKE IT, BUT INFORMED TOKYO CTL THAT WE WERE UNABLE. TOKYO ASKED US TO MAKE FL350 BY SABES INTXN. WE WERE UNABLE AND THEY EXTENDED IT TO 30 NM PAST SABES. WE SAID WE WOULD TRY. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THIS, WE TOLD TOKYO THAT WE COULD NOT MAKE IT BY THEN EITHER. TOKYO THEN RANTED ABOUT US VIOLATING OUR CLRNC. AT THIS POINT, WE WERE NON RADAR, ETC. I DO NOT FEEL WE VIOLATED ANY CLRNC. THEY KEPT CHANGING CLRNCS ON US AND WE WERE HESITANT TO ACCEPT THEM. TOKYO CTL BUCKED THEMSELVES INTO A CORNER AND TRIED TO GET US TO EXCEED OUR ACFT'S PERFORMANCE CAPABILITIES. NEXT TIME WE WILL USE MORE FORCEFUL LANGUAGE.
