Was talking to mke approach and was busy helping student set up approach. Noticed radio silence. Student had accidentally swapped frequencys. I could have used more vigilance to ensure a better radio scan. Mke informed us that they had been attempting to get a hold of us and there had been a traffic conflict.

Title: INSTRUCTOR DISCOVERS STUDENT CHANGED COM FREQ WHEN BEING VECTORED BY MKE APCH WITHOUT AUTH AND ADVISED OF TFC CONFLICT WHEN RETURNING TO CORRECT FREQ.

Narrative: WAS TALKING TO MKE APCH AND WAS BUSY HELPING STUDENT SET UP APCH. NOTICED RADIO SILENCE. STUDENT HAD ACCIDENTALLY SWAPPED FREQS. I COULD HAVE USED MORE VIGILANCE TO ENSURE A BETTER RADIO SCAN. MKE INFORMED US THAT THEY HAD BEEN ATTEMPTING TO GET A HOLD OF US AND THERE HAD BEEN A TFC CONFLICT.
