Narrative:

Just completed the sparks visual to rno and clearing runway 16L. The tower advised me to call rno tower supervisor for a suspected pilot deviation. Taxied in and called the tower. Supervisor came on the line and advised me that he had reviewed the tapes and a mistake had been made but we had in fact been cleared to land on runway 16L and had called on final for the left and acknowledged the runway 16L clearance. He thanked me for my time and I hung up. There was little traffic and the WX was cavu. Whatever the problem was, I don't want it to surface later and include me.
