Narrative:

I brought pre departure clearance for flight X to aircraft and entered proper route in FMS. A gate agent had brought a pre departure clearance for flight Y and the first officer entered that squawk code into transponder. I did not verify the squawk code as I didn't know the gate agent had brought another pre departure clearance (wrong one). We were cleared for takeoff with our correct flight number, but when tower started calling flight Y for frequency change, we didn't answer. After several calls, I knew he was looking for us. After short investigation, I realized we had 2 pre departure clearance's on board. I explained briefly to approach control what had happened. We then changed our transponder to correct code and completed flight uneventfully.
