Narrative:
Aircraft 1 through 14000 ft, at about 270 KTS, 15 mi southwest of pmd VOR (on glendale 8 SID). Out of nowhere, came what looked like a korean war era mig fighter (aircraft 2) in a steep bank to the right. We were not given any warning by ZLA. It happened so fast there was no time to react. Aircraft 2 perhaps saw us and took action. ZLA was not able to track aircraft 2, but said it might be based at vny. I believe aircraft 2 did not participate with ATC and must not have had its transponder on. I believe aircraft 2 was operating on a route and was unaware and acting careless in doing so.
