Narrative:

In cruise flight automatic trim failed, followed by failure of primary pitch trim. Back-up worked fine until approximately 25 mi north of orf, when it too failed, at the +2 degree position. Aircraft was landed (emergency declared) without event. Complied with QRH items and landed flaps 22 degrees. This aircraft was only 4 days old on day of flight. Quality control at embraer seems to be deteriorating. Hearing of more and more of these episodes. First officer was very helpful looking for traffic, etc.
