Narrative:

Communication with tower controller -- ccs. We were instructed to taxi to runway 9 which we did, holding short of taxiway F/runway 9R. The tower controller then told us to taxi into position and hold, runway 9. Both the first officer and I agreed that is what controller said and he repeated it back slowly and distinctly to position and hold runway 9. I cleared final, saw no one, crossed taxiway F/runway 9R and went on to runway 9L. We sat there for approximately 1 min when the tower controller goes 'you were told after landing, aircraft position and hold, runway 9.' well, we never heard that part. We acknowledged to clearance we both agreed on and tower said nothing to us upon our taxiing across taxiway F. I called tower and asked if there was a problem and then observed a twin landing on runway 9R. He must have been on a long final/base as I did not see him on short final. I appreciate the language difference but we read back as we heard it and if tower didn't like it they should have said something at the time. Also, we should clear up the confusion of taxiway F/runway 9R as ground directs taxi to runway 9 and does not use runway 9R/9L terminology. So there is a question of if runway 9R is in use or not.

Title: B757-200 CREW HAD RWY INCURSION AT SVMI.

Narrative: COM WITH TWR CTLR -- CCS. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO TAXI TO RWY 9 WHICH WE DID, HOLDING SHORT OF TXWY F/RWY 9R. THE TWR CTLR THEN TOLD US TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD, RWY 9. BOTH THE FO AND I AGREED THAT IS WHAT CTLR SAID AND HE REPEATED IT BACK SLOWLY AND DISTINCTLY TO POS AND HOLD RWY 9. I CLRED FINAL, SAW NO ONE, CROSSED TXWY F/RWY 9R AND WENT ON TO RWY 9L. WE SAT THERE FOR APPROX 1 MIN WHEN THE TWR CTLR GOES 'YOU WERE TOLD AFTER LNDG, ACFT POS AND HOLD, RWY 9.' WELL, WE NEVER HEARD THAT PART. WE ACKNOWLEDGED TO CLRNC WE BOTH AGREED ON AND TWR SAID NOTHING TO US UPON OUR TAXIING ACROSS TXWY F. I CALLED TWR AND ASKED IF THERE WAS A PROB AND THEN OBSERVED A TWIN LNDG ON RWY 9R. HE MUST HAVE BEEN ON A LONG FINAL/BASE AS I DID NOT SEE HIM ON SHORT FINAL. I APPRECIATE THE LANGUAGE DIFFERENCE BUT WE READ BACK AS WE HEARD IT AND IF TWR DIDN'T LIKE IT THEY SHOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING AT THE TIME. ALSO, WE SHOULD CLR UP THE CONFUSION OF TXWY F/RWY 9R AS GND DIRECTS TAXI TO RWY 9 AND DOES NOT USE RWY 9R/9L TERMINOLOGY. SO THERE IS A QUESTION OF IF RWY 9R IS IN USE OR NOT.
