Narrative:

Our crew operated aircraft from ord to msp to abq. Upon departure from ord, we had no knowledge of any hazmat or dangerous goods on board this aircraft. Flight from ord to msp was normal. Approximately 20 mins prior to departure on flight from msp to abq, a ground service employee entered the cockpit informing us that there were 2 separate aircraft on flight from msp to ord, and that they were to be offloaded at ord. He also indicated that the 2 separate shipments of dangerous goods were not in the same cargo compartments that he had loaded them in for flight from msp to ord. I stated to the ground service agent that this crew had no knowledge of the materials on the aircraft. I also stated that we were not provided hazmat forms or briefed on the presence of hazmat on the aircraft for flight from ord to msp. The ord crew made no statements and provided no hazmat data indicating the presence of these shipments or materials. The ground service agent in smp was extremely helpful in gathering information and assisting in the determination of the irregular processing of this shipment at ord. I requested the ground service agent obtain the hazmat forms related to the shipment of this material from msp to ord. He located both of these hazmat forms. The pertinent forms are: flammable material and corrosive material. Upon my knowledge of this event, I contacted msp dispatch. I requested a conversation with the system operations control director and was xferred. I explained the chain of events and requested that he inquire as to the nature of the hazmat shipment irregularities at ord. I also requested a patch to a dtw chief pilot to inform him of the irregularity and solicit additional perspective. The hazmat was removed from our aircraft prior to our operation from msp to abq.
