Narrative:
Given crossing restr 30 mi northwest jvl at FL240. I got distraction with flight attendant coming forward with a cabin discrepancy and conversation ensuing. Copilot said he tried to get my attention to tell me we were late for the crossing restr, but too late. At 30 NM, we were at FL250, not FL240 as assigned. We notified ATC and no problem with them. Copilot and I debriefed situation.

Narrative: GIVEN XING RESTR 30 MI NW JVL AT FL240. I GOT DISTR WITH FLT ATTENDANT COMING FORWARD WITH A CABIN DISCREPANCY AND CONVERSATION ENSUING. COPLT SAID HE TRIED TO GET MY ATTN TO TELL ME WE WERE LATE FOR THE XING RESTR, BUT TOO LATE. AT 30 NM, WE WERE AT FL250, NOT FL240 AS ASSIGNED. WE NOTIFIED ATC AND NO PROB WITH THEM. COPLT AND I DEBRIEFED SIT.
