Narrative:

Tower cabin attendant windows unsafe for ATC use -- too much glare, too reflective. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: tower specialist advised that the tower was built within the last 8 yrs when the airport was renovated and expanded. The tower windows were installed vertically, thus causing glare during most daylight and night conditions. The reporter advised that a window confign contract has been awarded to tilt the windows 15 degrees. This project starts during the week of may/28/01. Jqf has become a major regional airport now ranked #8 in traffic in north carolina. Service is predominantly GA executive, with a regional carrier, and media interest towards 8 major nascar racing teams that are stationed on the airport.
