Narrative:

While on the ILS runway 25L, at approximately 3000 ft, the air carrier captain behind us was instructed by socal approach to keep us visual and to stay behind us. At approximately 2800 ft, we received a TCASII TA, followed closely with an RA restricting the vertical descent on the ILS. The RA was followed as aircraft passed under and slightly to the right of us. After the RA, we were able to come down and recapture the ILS and proceeded to land on runway 25L, while keeping the aircraft landing on runway 25R in sight. Lax tower agreed that aircraft was told not to pass us. I called the approach controller and he also said he was told to keep a visual and to stay behind.
