Narrative:

I was flying over san francisco class B airspace from the monterey area to santa rosa (sts) at 8200 ft. Used terminal area chart out of date in error. I hadn't discarded old chart and pulled it out of my flight bag instead of current one. Last time I flew in area the top of class B was 8000 ft old chart said 8000 ft, so I thought I was at correct altitude for our flight. Didn't realized that I had the old chart. I should have thrown old one away or at least checked the date before opening chart and using it. No excuse!
