Narrative:

I do not have a clear recollection of obtaining a clearance to taxi for departure at controller in charge on feb/xa/01. Shortly after leaving the air traffic area, having received a clearance for departure, I could not remember having called chico ground control for taxi instructions prior to taxiing to runway 13L. At no time was there an incursion or unsafe condition. As a matter of fact, the tower never made any comment to me, so it is possible that I did get taxi instructions, but simply forgot that I did. If true, the contributing factor would be preoccupation with complexity of forthcoming long VFR/IFR flight to las. At the time I was well rested, alert and not under the influence of the head cold sweeping through my family.
