Narrative:

Flight originated at mtw on feb/xa/01 approximately XA00. Flight direct to orl. No communications handoff received from ZID. When I realized I was well past ZID and now over ZTL airspace, I called ZID. They told me I was not with them and to go back to previously assigned frequency. I then called up ZTL. They acknowledged me and flight continued without any problems or comment from ATC. I should have realized sooner that I was well past ZID airspace and sought communications with ZME.

Narrative: FLT ORIGINATED AT MTW ON FEB/XA/01 APPROX XA00. FLT DIRECT TO ORL. NO COMS HDOF RECEIVED FROM ZID. WHEN I REALIZED I WAS WELL PAST ZID AND NOW OVER ZTL AIRSPACE, I CALLED ZID. THEY TOLD ME I WAS NOT WITH THEM AND TO GO BACK TO PREVIOUSLY ASSIGNED FREQ. I THEN CALLED UP ZTL. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED ME AND FLT CONTINUED WITHOUT ANY PROBS OR COMMENT FROM ATC. I SHOULD HAVE REALIZED SOONER THAT I WAS WELL PAST ZID AIRSPACE AND SOUGHT COMS WITH ZME.
