Narrative:

Aircraft xyz came in with write-up that aural warnings were only coming from captain's overhead speaker. Replaced flight warning computer and tested system as per maintenance manual chapter 31 using line test equipment. System operations tested ok and aural warnings were present from both cockpit overhead speakers. Did not make appropriate CAT IIIA entry in logbook. Was called the same afternoon and informed that I had installed the wrong plan flight warning computer. I got my information for the part number for the computer I installed from our shop parts reference book. Apparently, our shop parts reference book had not been updated. Our quality assurance department caught the discrepancy after the aircraft left ZZZ and the aircraft was ferried from XXX, us, to ZZZ for repair.
