Narrative:

Phx ground instructed me to taxi to runway 25L via taxiway G. At runway 25L I switched to tower frequency and new taxi instructions were issued, 'taxi across runway 25R to taxiway F, turn right and taxi to departure end of runway 25R.' then amended instructions to 'cross to runway 25L to taxiway F and taxi to departure end of runway 25R.' I missed taxiway F and almost taxied into runway 25R. No damage or injury. I made the error, but I think the tower could have alerted me earlier. Airport was pretty slow.

Title: PLT OF A C421 RECOGNIZED HIS MISTAKE DURING TAXI OUT JUST IN TIME TO TURN AROUND AND FOLLOW THE ACTUAL TAXI RTE GIVEN HIM IN AN AMENDED CLRNC BEFORE XING THE ACTIVE RWY WHEREIN ANOTHER ACFT WAS OCCUPYING THE RWY BASED ON THE ESTIMATED MISSED DISTANCE INDICATED BY THE RPTR.

Narrative: PHX GND INSTRUCTED ME TO TAXI TO RWY 25L VIA TXWY G. AT RWY 25L I SWITCHED TO TWR FREQ AND NEW TAXI INSTRUCTIONS WERE ISSUED, 'TAXI ACROSS RWY 25R TO TXWY F, TURN R AND TAXI TO DEP END OF RWY 25R.' THEN AMENDED INSTRUCTIONS TO 'CROSS TO RWY 25L TO TXWY F AND TAXI TO DEP END OF RWY 25R.' I MISSED TXWY F AND ALMOST TAXIED INTO RWY 25R. NO DAMAGE OR INJURY. I MADE THE ERROR, BUT I THINK THE TWR COULD HAVE ALERTED ME EARLIER. ARPT WAS PRETTY SLOW.
