Narrative:

While descending into clt on the majic arrival, date was dec/xa/00, at approximately XA15. The clearance was to cross majic intersection at 250 KTS and 13000 ft. I understood the clearance was majic at 250 KTS and 11000 ft. At 11600 ft, 4 mi north of majic, center asked what our altitude was. We told them 11600 ft. They then instructed us to climb back up to 13000 ft. We complied. At 13000 ft, we asked what our original clearance had been. Center responded majic at 250 KTS and 13000 ft. We did not observe any traffic on the TCASII during any time of this occurrence. I accept the responsibility for this inadvertent mistake.
