During vectors for an ILS to runway 24 at elmira, while in level flight at our assigned altitude, I received a GPWS terrain warning. The GPWS escape maneuver was executed in accordance with standard procedures. At the completion of the maneuvers, vectors continued and a normal ILS approach and landing was made at elmira.
