Narrative:

Flight engineer radio was not functioning. I (the captain) went off the radio to contact company to inform them we were in range. This was a ferry flight from ord to mdw. Much confusion. First officer was flying the plane. When I came back on to ATC we were on a 2 mi final in the landing confign. We landed and taxied clear of the runway. However, apparently the first officer had not received a clearance to land. Our radio was still on the approach frequency.
