Narrative:

I was on the visual approach to runway 36R in tampa, fl. I was on the localizer about 10 NM DME. Approach control asked us to maintain visual separation from a B737 on approach to the left. I reported the traffic in sight. The traffic (a B737) was in a turn for runway 36L. I realized a few moments later that he (B737) was not going to make the turn. I immediately took the controls from my first officer and put the aircraft in a steep descent to approximately 1900 ft. My clearance was 2600 ft until north of macdill AFB. In order to maintain separation I had to deviation from that clearance. The B737 started a climb and a heading of about 090 degrees. I estimated the distance as he flew over us at about 1300 ft. A normal landing was made following the deviation. The probable cause was the B737's failure to intercept the final for runway 36L.

Title: A 'B190' CREW AND A 'B735' CREW TOOK EVASIVE ACTION DURING PARALLEL VISUAL APCHS.

Narrative: I WAS ON THE VISUAL APCH TO RWY 36R IN TAMPA, FL. I WAS ON THE LOC ABOUT 10 NM DME. APCH CTL ASKED US TO MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION FROM A B737 ON APCH TO THE L. I RPTED THE TFC IN SIGHT. THE TFC (A B737) WAS IN A TURN FOR RWY 36L. I REALIZED A FEW MOMENTS LATER THAT HE (B737) WAS NOT GOING TO MAKE THE TURN. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CTLS FROM MY FO AND PUT THE ACFT IN A STEEP DSCNT TO APPROX 1900 FT. MY CLRNC WAS 2600 FT UNTIL N OF MACDILL AFB. IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN SEPARATION I HAD TO DEV FROM THAT CLRNC. THE B737 STARTED A CLB AND A HDG OF ABOUT 090 DEGS. I ESTIMATED THE DISTANCE AS HE FLEW OVER US AT ABOUT 1300 FT. A NORMAL LNDG WAS MADE FOLLOWING THE DEV. THE PROBABLE CAUSE WAS THE B737'S FAILURE TO INTERCEPT THE FINAL FOR RWY 36L.
