Narrative:

We were cleared to land runway 11L by the tower via left base entry following a departure on runway 29L by a part 121 carrier. I was on a training flight with a new student and was explaining the entire procedure in the pattern. Even though I did read back the clearance as 'cleared to land runway 11L,' I still landed on runway 11R. I did not realize my error until personnel at the flight desk informed me that the tower had called about the above incident. I believe that the contributing factor was the lengthy explanations I was giving to the student and the habit of landing on runway 11R. Most landing clrncs for our flight training school are given for runway 11R. Even though I read back runway 11L, I was so used to landing on runway 11R that I must have done so out of habit. I learned that even if you have flown many hours at a specific airport, especially if you have many hours at one airport, you must stay alert and not fall prey to habit.

Title: AN INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT LANDED ON THE WRONG PARALLEL RWY AT FAT.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO LAND RWY 11L BY THE TWR VIA L BASE ENTRY FOLLOWING A DEP ON RWY 29L BY A PART 121 CARRIER. I BELIEVE THAT THE CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS THE LENGTHY EXPLANATIONS I WAS GIVING TO THE STUDENT AND THE HABIT OF LNDG ON RWY 11R. MOST LNDG CLRNCS FOR OUR FLT TRAINING SCHOOL ARE GIVEN FOR RWY 11R.
